Find Your Property on the Map
Explore the interactive Zoning Map or search for an address or place in Taylor. The instructions for using the web-based map are on the right side of the map. By turning off and on different map layers, you can find the current zoning assigned to a property and the Place Type zoning proposed for a property. See how the proposed Place Type zone fits with the surrounding properties' Place Type zones. You can then reference the appropriate Place Type developments standards in Chapter 4 of the draft Land Development Code.

Zoning Translation Chart
The Place Type zoning for each parcel in Taylor has been carefully considered, based on the existing zoning, the Future Land Use Map, and the Growth Sectors Map developed as part of the Envision Taylor comprehensive plan. New Zoning Place Type Standards

Existing Zoning
The existing zoning in Taylor does not currenty match the Envision Taylor vision. Many of the properties that define the character of Taylor are grandfathered-in and can no longer be built.

Envision Taylor Comprehensive Plan
The City of Taylor adopted a new comprehensive plan on November 18, 2021. Envision Taylor is a policy document intended to be used by city leaders, developers, business owners, and citizens to decide how to grow and develop in the future. The community was loud and clear: don't let this be a plan that sits on a shelf! To ensure the Envision Taylor comprehensive plan is implemented, the development codes and zoning standards are being updated to reflect the comprehensive plan vision.
